Ramadan and Eid Decor Lighting Ideas

Ramadan and Eid Decor Lighting Ideas

Ramadan is a special time of year, and lighting does a lot to set the mood. Here’s how we decorated a home for Ramadan and Eid, along with ideas you can borrow for your own.

The Staircase

The staircase was the main feature. Curtain string lights run down the wall along the curve of the stairs. Tall Ramadan Mubarak banners hang from the railing, and garland wraps the banister.

Window Lights in the Dining Room

Star and crescent string lights hang in the patio doors, so they glow both inside and from the yard. Metallic balloons and banners finish the dining area.

Lanterns and Warm Accents

In the living room, a backlit arch lantern and a crescent moon lamp add a warm, softer glow for the evenings after iftar.

Balloon Garlands

Green, gold, and white balloon garlands framed the doorways and made the house feel festive for Eid.

Setting Up

Most of the setup happened in one evening. The kitchen became our staging area while the lights and banners went up.

Tips

  • Plan your power. Know where your outlets are before buying lights, or use battery and USB-powered strings.
  • Use timers or smart plugs. Lights can turn on automatically at Maghrib.
  • Layer your light. Mix string lights, lanterns, and lamps for depth.
