Landscape Lighting That Brings a Garden to Life at Night

Landscape Lighting That Brings a Garden to Life at Night

A well-kept garden shouldn’t disappear when the sun goes down. In this project we added landscape lighting to the front yard, the garden beds, and the backyard waterfall, so the yard looks as good at night as it does during the day.

Starting With the Daytime Layout

Good landscape lighting starts with the daytime view. We picked the features worth highlighting (mature trees, a rock waterfall, hydrangeas, and tall evergreens) and placed fixtures to frame them.

Uplighting Trees and Garden Beds

Uplights at the base of trees add depth and draw the eye upward. Smaller spotlights pick out shrubs and flower beds along the walkway.

From Dusk to Dark

At dusk the lights add a subtle glow. As it gets darker, they take over and the yard looks completely different.

Colour-Changing Scenes

The fixtures are RGB, so the homeowner can switch from classic warm white to colours for holidays, celebrations, or just for fun.

Walkways and Patios

Lights along the walkway and around the patio make it safer to get around and keep the outdoor seating usable well into the evening.
